Postcards from San Gimignano

San Gimignano is a sight you can't ignore. Named after Modena's patron Saint, San Geminianus, who in 450 AD spared the city from followers of Attila the Hun when he was Bishop. But let's be honest, when you visit San Gimignano its history doesn't matter, does it? The thing that is most striking about this Medieval city, overlooking the Siena hillside is its immense and incredible beauty and how you feel when you first lay eyes on it from afar

Enter into its historic centre through its walls, wind your way up and down its steep backstreets, have an ice cream at one of Italy's best gelaterie and enjoy San Gimignano from within, from its foothills and from high on its terraces.

These are some postcards from San Gimignano.....wish you were here. Actually....I wish I was still there too!

Postcards from San Gimignano

I thought I was just going to stay in Milan for a few months to learn Italian. It's been 6 years. Now I work from home for an exotic leather belt brand, live in Modena (Pavarotti's hometown and where Balsamic Vinegar and the Ferrari come from!) and I'm married to the guy who was once just my Italian lover. Together we have a very feisty and strong spirited toddler. I thought becoming a mom and working from home, meant I would no longer have a reason to dress. Thankfully, Italy is filled with reasons to shop, get dressed and be seen.
