One thing I like about jazz, kid, is that I don't know what's going to happen next. Do you? — Bix BeiderbeckeI'll admit it. I don't like over-planning things, including my outfits. This number was slung together like a Thelonious Monk tunello, all nonchalant and confident.
I know it works, even without looking too long in the mirror. Thrifted black cotton maxi, thrifted hat, killer sunglasses, simple shoes. No time to worry about hair and make-up, I've got stuff to do. The silhouette is strong- long, lean and black- always a look that conveys a bit of an outsider. I'm wearing a vintage straw porkpie hat, which makes me think cool-as-fuck jazz musician. Or Buster Keaton.
Aka the Great Stone Face.

It was hot. I wore black.
And my great porkpie.
