Chef

As the name indicates, Chef is about a restaurateur, Carl Casper, whose business fails and decides to relocate from Los Angeles. He tries opening a food truck close to his ex-wife and son in Miami. He later decides to tot it around the country. The protagonist, Carl Casper, acted by Favreau is supported by a first rate cast that includes Robert Downey, Scarlett Johannson among others.

Election

Matthew Broderick, acting as a high school history professor, attempts to influence a high school election for the post of the student council president in favor of a high school football player. The odds seem stacked against Matthew’s candidate because his opponent is a sociopath, Tracy Flick. Tracy Flick is acted by Jessica Campbell and the comedy is a satirical swipe against America’s electoral process and high school life. Everyone’s performance in this comedy is top notch, surely a must watch.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

Set in Chicago, Protagonist Ferris Bueller believes that death is knocking at his door and somehow manages to convince his whole school of it. Believing that he has a short time to live, he along with his girlfriend and best friend embarks on a wild jamboree through the streets of Chicago. It’s a day of total profanity and full of indelible scenes and landmarks of the city of Chicago. This comedy tells the story of teens and their growing-up misdemeanors in a hilarious way.

Zoolander

It’s all about a nitwit of a male model who discovers an assassination plot against the Prime Minister of Malaysia. The culprit is an iconic mogul in the fashion industry. The cast is star studded with appearances from the likes of Owen Wilson, Ben Stiller and others. The films fashion stilt blends with memorable one liners and compliments the stellar cast.

Wet Hot American Summer

This comedy gives account of the final day at Camp Firewood, a fictional place. It’s a veritable pot pourri of everything base you can think of, lust, lousy lips and an errant display of imbecilic talent shows ever seen in the state of Maine. Wet Hot American Summer is laden with a stellar cast of actors and actresses. Amy Poehler, Michael Ian Black, Bradley Cooper and several others grace the script. When it debuted, this film was a complete flop but it has garnered much higher popularity and ratings ever since.

Hot Fuzz

Simon Pegg stars as a former London Policeman who partners a moronic Cop, Butterman, acted by Frost, when both are sent to investigate the peaceful town of Sanford. At first, it seemed a run-of-the mill, boring assignment to a passionless, soulless dreary town but things became interesting following a strange turn of events. This happens when a series of ‘accidents’ begin to befall the dwellers of this otherwise sleepy town. This British film has a biting edge accentuated by the fabulous interplay between the two actors.

Get Low

Get Low weaves the story of a rural and eccentric Hermit, who organizes to attend his own funeral before his death in company of Frank Quinn. Robert Duvall acts as the hermit and this comedy is roughly inspired by a true life story of a man who lived in the state of Tennessee in the 1930s. The film is partially hampered by a tinge of incredulity and excessive melodrama, but Robert Duvall’s astounding performance makes up for it, successfully carrying the narrative to its close.

Mean Girls

High schools are unerringly laced by social cliques and this comedy comes out as good as any in depicting the petty jealousies, meanness and rivalries of girls at school. It’s based on a high school girl, Cady Heron, acted by Lindsey Lohan, who at 16 is compelled to attend a public school upon her parents return from a ten year research trip to Africa. Cady teams up with the most prestigious circle in the school. Later, she falls in love with Aaron Samuels but finds herself embroiled in a psychological contest of status.
