Scholarships for TV Lovers

Posted on the 14 June 2015 by Girlandremote @girlandremote

By now you all probably know that I am a huge television lover. But, I never would of thought that my love for television would actually be financially rewarding. This morning I just found out that I received an audio and video scholarship from the National Press Club's Video Scholarship contest. I received the Zimmerman Scholarship award for $5,000.

The National Press Club is pleased to announce that the late Richard G. Zimmerman, a member of long standing, has endowed a significant scholarship in aid of high school seniors who wish to pursue a career in journalism. Recipients will receive a non-renewal award of $5,000.

Surprisingly, there are a number of scholarships out there for people who love television, movies, and making videos. For the scholarship I won I needed to make a video and submit it to National Press Club. The video only took me a few hours, and it was completely worth it now that I got the scholarship. My Communications classes are finally starting to reap me benefits. I thought all of those video production classes were going to be worthless.

Finding scholarships for television and video production lovers can be somewhat difficult. There are a few great video scholarship opportunities on WeirdScholarship's website. Look on the right hand side and you will find plenty of great opportunities.

You should also check out other scholarship websites too, with a quick google search you will a number of video and television scholarships available.

It may sound ridiculous, but I've actually started applying for a number of these scholarships while watching my favorite shows. Many of the scholarship applications ask for the same information. You can easily copy and paste the same scholarship application information while Watching Game of Thrones!
