With summer just around the corner, some of us are already preparing our next holiday vacation. While dogs have become part of the family, many pet parents are planning their vacations around their canines. While finding the right venue can be a challenge, one resort in Roca del Valles, Spain has recently opened its doors exclusively for dogs.
The Resort Canino Can Janè has recently made a splash in the pet world as it recently opened its doors to the World’s largest Waterpark Resort for dogs. 30 minutes from Barcelona, the five-star hotel boasts a large aqua park that includes a facility that includes a pool that is designed to accomodate dogs of all shapes and sizes with a pool that is at the right depth for all it’s canine guests.

THE BIRTH OF A WATERPARK
According to the Daily Mail, manager Frederico Cano had seen a resort that allowed dogs and humans to swim alongside each other but decided to take it further by making an exclusive resort just for dogs. “I don’t see why dogs should not be allowed to enjoy a swim when the weather gets hot just like people can – especially here in Spain where it gets really hot,” said Cano who designed the resort to be more beach-like by incorporating a gradual slope into the design of the pool.
“There were a few other technical challenges. For example the filter system has to handle rather more here than might be usual but we’ve overcome the problem and can guarantee a great experience for dogs and one that is clean and healthy for owners,” said Cano.

So is this the endless Paradise for all pooches? Cano said that once the dogs get used to the pool the biggest problem is getting them to come out of the water . He explains that it is also great exercise for older dogs who may have difficulty in running around and that this is a way they can comfortably swim for long periods of time.
Resort Canino Can Janè has over 20 years’ experience in dog training. The admission for the resort is £10 or ($17 USD) for adults and dogs in a 1,000m/60cm deep pool.
