These charts are from the latest survey from the Pew Research Center. It was done between September 18th and 24th of a national sample of 1,754 adults, with a margin of error of 2.7 points.
Both parties are energized for this election -- but Democrats have a 67% to 59% advantage. Democrats are also viewed as more honest and ethical by 15 points (47% to 32%) and more concerned about people by 25 points (56% to 31%). The Republicans are viewed as having the most extreme positions by 9 points (39% to 48%). Democrats are also viewed better on the issues.
Perhaps most important is the gender gap. Men prefer Republicans by 3 points (45% to 48%), while women prefer Democrats by 23 points (58% to 35%).
