Poll Numbers Still Show Possibility Of A Wave Election
These charts are from a recent Gallup Poll -- done between September 4th and 12th of a random national sample of 1,035 adults, with a margin of error of 4 points.
It shows that, to no surprise, Republicans like this government more than Democrats do. About 49% of Republicans trust the legislative branch (Congress) and 81% say they trust the executive branch (Trump). Among Democrats, only 34% trusts the legislative branch and 8% trust Trump.
But it is the view of all adults that should worry Republicans. Only 40% of the general public trusts the legislative branch and 42% trusts Trump. Those are the kind of numbers that result in a wave election (with at least one house of Congress being flipped -- and maybe both).
