The evil home-invader, whose savage beating of a young mother in her home in Milburn, NJ, was captured on nanny cam, has been caught!

Our TrailDust had posted about this 5 days ago. See “Unarmed Mother Beaten,” June 25, 2013.

The Daily Mail reports that Shawn Curtis, 42, was arrested in Manhattan on Friday after police identified him from the nanny can images and released an old mug shot of Curtis to the public.

With her baby boy sleeping upstairs, the young mother was watching morning cartoons with her three-year-old daughter on the couch when Curtis kicked in the bolted front door and savagely attacked the woman.

According to NBC4,  the woman said she was afraid to cry out in case it made her daughter scream, which would anger her attacker. “I knew that if I started screaming, my daughter would, too, and I was afraid she would get hurt. I took it. I didn’t cry the entire time.”

Punched and kicked at least 16 times, the mother was treated in a hospital for concussion and extensive bruises to her face and body. She had several chipped teeth and received stitches near her mouth.

The robber made off with an undetermined amount of jewelry, according to NBC News. But not before shoving his victim down the basement stairs.

Custis had been released from prison in December, where he was serving a sentence for burglaries in New Jersey. He now faces charges of attempted murder, robber, burglary and child endangerment, and is being held on $750,000 bail.
