Toronto-based artists announce social-isolation tour via Instagram Live
In the midst of uncertainty, anxiety, and the unknown, creativity can pop up to delight and surprise you. We've seen a lot of that in the last few days and weeks, with artists finding ways to entertain and interact with fans as we all deal with the realities of the COVID-19 pandemic. And now , , and are joining the party with their five-date Home Alone Tour, starting Friday, March 26, 2020, at 7 PM.
The Toronto-based artists are all preparing for the dates with a special twist. Each of the five nights will have a new location, but instead of it being a new bar or club in the city, it will be a new space in their home for each show. It's the little touches like this that we're loving from artists like these three, changing things up just enough to keep them fresh in a time when every day feels like Wednesday and it's hard to remember if you ate lunch today or if that was yesterday.

We spoke briefly with POESY about the Insta-tour and she said, "Everything is so weird right now. I think a lot of musicians are trying to find a way to still keep doing what they love safely from home, for their fans, but also because we are all creators and need to practise that every day. For me, the at-home concert tour seemed like a great way to make light of the situation and switch things up from just a regular live stream. Also, it's so much easier to coordinate and fund than an in-person tour so why not make the most of it! Anything we can do to ease the normalcy in life right now and remind people we're all in this together, we're going to do. And I hope this brings some light to people." She also told us that they've got special fan engagements planned to keep things a little interesting AND there are some special guests lined up - but she wouldn't tell us who. But we might have a guess or two.
We also learned that on each of the five nights, Bedhead will kick things off, FAVVKES will follow, and POESY will headline. Each set will be hosted on the performing artist's Instagram, which we've got for you right here.
The artists will announce specific set times each day on their social channels, so stay tuned for updates. But keep that 7 PM start time in mind as a baseline for the tour.
We've known POESY since she broke out on CTV's The Launch season 1 with her single, Soldier Of Love, and we've followed as she worked on and released her EP, Glass Box Confessional. And as she works on her second EP, we'll be watching for more new music and chances to see her perform either online or in-person once the world gets back to some sort of normal.
