It looks like +/- are back in the game after a six year silence. The New York trio’s new album, Jumping The Tracks, is out this week, and over the course of the past month or so, the band has released two songs from the album. “Young Once” is the better of the pair, brimming with energy and amp-burning momentum. Immaculately tight drums offset guitar plucking and power strums (reminding us of Indiana rockers, Looking for Astronauts), while vocal harmonies and bells offer a welcome soft spot to the track’s deliberate surge. Interestingly in the four-minute song, vocals enter after almost a minute and a half, allowing the listener to properly stew in the introductory jam-fest. Based off “Young Once”, we’re incredibly stoked for the whole album and their upcoming show at Mercury Lounge. Welcome back, fellas!
