Plaza Inn, Albuquerque, New Mexico
Dr. Mengele would be proud.
A hotel in Albuquerque, New Mexico, gives special discount rates for women getting a late-term abortion at the city’s butcher shop with a vague and innocuous name of Southwest Women’s Options. The Plaza Inn hotel is so helpful, they’ll even provide transportation to and from the butcher shop for those women!
Ben Johnson writes for LifeSiteNews, Nov. 15, 2013, that a Live Action undercover video uncovered the special “service” provided by Plaza Inn.
In the video, a reporter pretending to be heavily pregnant young woman calls Southwest Women’s Options to schedule an abortion at 25 weeks. An abortion worker tells her that the Plaza Inn works “in conjunction with” them and “give [special] room rates” to women.
The hotel will also pick women up from the airport and shuttle them to and from their appointments at SWO. The site’s abortionist, Dr. Carmen Landau, trumpeted in a video that “people come from all over the country and all over the world into our clinic, because in most places you cannot get an abortion after 24 weeks,” whereas New Mexico does not have “a lot of [abortion] restrictions” on the books.
Abortion “doctor” Carmen LandauA receptionist at the Plaza Inn confirmed the rooms were “$49 dollars, plus tax.” The rate does not appear to be much of a discount, as the website currently offers a room with deluxe queen size bed for $45 for a single night, and less money yet if the stay extends several days.
“The Plaza Inn is more than willing to give discounts and free transportation to mothers about to have their children poisoned to death and torn apart,” Live Action President Lila Rose said in a press release. “How many other hotels – in Albuquerque, and across the nation – are profiting from these gruesome procedures? How many are offering discounts for death?”
More shocking than the hotel’s alliance with a late-term abortionist is Southwest Women’s Options’ advice to women who go into labor in the hotel. In the video, the abortion clinic worker tells the “young woman” that if she feels “something coming out . . . um, the pregnancy coming out,” she should just “get your cell phone and just sit on the toilet” in her hotel room until the clinic’s personnel arrive.
“What if it does come out when I’m on the toilet?” the reporter asks.
The counselor says the woman should just drop her baby in the toilet and that “You don’t gotta look down. If you feel like it’s too much to see any of it, then do not let yourself look at it.” The counselor helpfully suggests the young woman could cover her lap with a towel so she did not see her stillborn child during the birth process.
A previous Live Action undercover video featured a worker at Southwest Women’s Options explaining that the week long, $8,000 late-term abortion involves sticking a needle through the unborn child’s skull to ensure his or her demise.
Both undercover videos seek to educate and inform Albuquerque voters for an election this coming Tuesday, Nov. 19, on the city’s proposed Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Ordinance that would bar abortions after 20 weeks on the grounds of fetal pain.
Planned Parenthood has pumped $300,000 into the city to fight the new ordinance, and a pro-life website reports that it has been hacked, redirecting e-mails of its supporters to a pro-abortion organization.
Never a match for abortionists’ finances, pro-life volunteers from several states are converging in Albuquerque to turn out the vote, including Students for Life of America, the Susan B. Anthony List, Created Equal, and Operation Rescue.
What I don’t understand is how late-term abortions are allowed in Albuquerque because the 2003 Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act makes late-term abortions unlawful in the United States.
