I will always remember 2018 as the year that I realised there is just as much essential music being released now as at any point in history. It's taken a long time for quality to return to that of the glorious 90s, but this was the year that saw alternative music re-emerge from a long transitional phase. This playlist features the 100 best tracks from the year, compiled into an epic compilation for your listening pleasure.The year saw the strongest new acts in decades release their debuts, as well as a number of alternative legends returning to top form.
