Piz Buin Self Tanning Colour Dial Review

By Beckysmakeup @beckysMABBlogs
I have never really been a big tanner bar the odd dabble with Rimmels Sun Shimmer which you can see my review here. I have never really had the patience to make it a part of my weekly regime but with the sun starting to make an appearance and holiday season on the horizon I thought it was time I started and so let me introduce you to Piz Buin self tanning lotion/colour dial.
Piz Buin Self Tanning Colour Dial Review The uniqueness of this product is that the bottle os split into 2 - light and dark. By adjusting the dial means that you can select the shade required. Being a tanning novice I opted for an in-between shade. I applied the product after showering and exfolating with a generic tanning mitt. The product applies smoothly and sinks into the skin well and despite it still having the standard biscuity aroma it was not as apparent as other tanning products I have come across.
Piz Buin Self Tanning Colour Dial Review The bottle has a small pump dispenser so no faffing around with messy tubes however due to the design of the pump it only dispenses a small amount of product. You have to really pump it several times to get enough product which is a little annoying especially when trying to work fast. As for drying time, this isn't the fastest so it is best to apply this when you have some time on your hands. After approximately 15 minutes I dressed but my skin still felt clammy, like it was not 100% dry. It takes a few hours for the color to develop so it would be until the morning until I found out how well it went. To be honest though the color was not too bad, a subtle golden olive. There were however areas I was sure to have covered but ended up patchy such as the ankles and wrists.
I was most concerned about how this would fade, which personally wasn't good. My skin looked as though it was covered in yellow/olive bruises in patches where it did not fade evenly but that could be due to my obsession with daily exfoliation.
Overall in a nutshell, I like the idea of this product and the concept of choosing my color although if you are going to only stick to one shade then it seems like a waste. I bought this from Boots and you can click here to buy for £18.49. With this in mind it is certainly not the cheapest on the market but just because it did not work for me does not mean it wont work for others.F
