I'm not much into fantasy baseball but the thread gave me an idea and I want to test it but I need 3 fairly knowledgeable Pirates fans to really assist me with this. Basically what I want to do is conduct a fantasy draft consisting solely of Pirate players. What I'm thinking is 4 teams consisting of 6 batters and 6 pitchers so this is really going to go deep into the Pirates depth.
We will say its a 5X5 rotisserie set up with R, RBI, HR, SB and OBP for hitters and W, K, WHIP, ERA and SV/HLD for pitchers.
I think an auction draft would be more fun as it would be great to see how crazy people go for McCutchen but I think a more practical exercise would be to do a snake draft type set up.
If anyone is interested I will gladly keep track of the results as the season goes on but primarily I just want to do this to get an idea of how it would go. Basically this is just for fun and I think it will be quite fascinating to see how everyone handles this unique draft.
Count me in! I think I could even do a post about the draft outcome on TPOP.
