It looks very close to done but I remember two years ago when the Pirates tried to sign Liriano how long it took for it finally become official. Reportedly the deal is a 3 year deal worth 39 million. Assuming that is true that is a very fair contract for both sides here and good work by Huntington and company getting their man before the market really began to heat up. Liriano has his faults mainly durability but when he is pitching he is easily a top of the rotation arm and for 13 million dollars a year and only three years that is a very sound investment.
This was by far the most important thing remaining on the Pirates check list. Now I believe whats left is a right handed bench bat, a left handed reliever and a mid to bottom rotation starting pitcher and of course depth, depth, depth. You always need depth.
Wow! I just was on the phone with Steelreign and we thought 3 years $30-32 .. Didn't think they'd go that high.
He also had a good second half of the season too. I'm with ya that this was a good important resigning
I would still like to see Volquez come back, but happy that Frankie has decided to stay. He got his 13 million and I think that's more than fair at 3 years

I was thinking without a QO he'd have a chance at something like 3/42 or 4/50 but that since the Pirates offered it to him they would be able to get him at 3/36 so 3/39 isn't bad at all.
