Pirate Eye Patch

By Vixenmade @vixenMade
My kids love dressing up and playing make believe.  Which is great!  I always wished I had the collection they have of dress up 'gear' (here's a hint)!
Since my daughter's "princess" stuff just doesn't appeal to the boys, I've been having to think of fun things for them too.  For a quick and fun make believe accessory, this is perfect!
And since they already had a pirate costume (clearing out at Halloween end of season), I made an eye patch to go with it.

Here's how easy it is: Get yourself some scrap black fleece (felt would work, too).

Pirate Eye Patch
Using a piece of chalk, sketch an outline of a pirate patch.
Pirate Eye Patch
Fold the piece in half, pin together and cut out your shape (that way you'll have two fleece pieces).

Find an elastic hair band or if you don't have one, just measure around your child's head and cut a piece of elastic that length.
Pirate Eye Patch
Sandwich the elastic between your two pieces of fleece and pin together.

Sew around the perimeter of your patch.  If you don't sew, you could also hot glue the two pieces together.

Now you're set.  Get your costume on and play the part!

Hee hee.  Ain't he just the greatest pirate!?

But really, he's just a softie.

These would work perfectly for a party favor at a Pirate themed party, too!

The other two had to get in on the action, too.

Arrghh!

Have fun!!
