On a trip to Fairbanks, we embarked on a flightseeing trip to the Arctic Circle on this Air Arctic aircraft.  Air Arctic is a Fairbanks-based operator operating a fleet of five Piper Navajo Chieftain aircraft.  At the request of company founder William T. Piper, Piper began development of a six- to eight-seat twin-engined corporate and commuter transport aircraft in 1962.  First flown in 1964, close to 4,000 Navajos were built before production ceased in 1984.  Introduced in 1972,  the PA-31-350 Navajo Chieftain is a stretched version of the Navajo B with more powerful engines and counter-rotating propellers.  Nikon D500 w/18-200mm.
