Even after a long day, sitting down to play with flowers to make an arrangement is beyond relaxing for me. It relieves stress, makes me feel at peace, but also inspires and sparks my creativity. I’m working on a Pink Garden themed baby shower, and their inspiration was a compact but lush floral arrangement, with light pinks, whites, and a bright pop of pink that blended naturally with the mostly neutral shades. To create these pink garden florals I used both white and fuchsia carnations, Quicksand Roses {which are one of my favorites, it opens up into a large beautiful bloom}, and light pink Rain Forest Roses. My clients found these adorable white flower pots here, and they make the perfect container for any style garden party. Seriously Carnations are underrated, and I’ll be the first to admit that these flowers aren’t on any one of my list of favorite florals, but when grouped together, they take on another form of beauty. If you research the more varied carnations, with different shapes, styles and colors, they can even mimic Peonies. Which is exactly why I used them in this arrangement. Seeing as Peonies can run a bit pricey when making arrangements, carnations are a much affordable alternative, and look just as beautiful. Another benefit of swapping for carnations, they aren’t as unpredictable as peonies can be. Leftover flowers are my favorite, it’s usually the arrangements that I don’t put too much thought into or try to recreate that tend to be effortlessly pretty.
I love the color of apricots, even more so when they’re grouped together alongside the shades of pink in these small arrangements. Definitely a lovely color inspiration for a garden or springtime table scape.
For these mini arrangements, I added a few sprigs of baby’s breath and rose leaves to create a looser look, more natural of what you’d find growing in a garden. Aren’t these just too pretty for a garden shower!
