Snubnose has always been into creating things ever since I gave her her first paint set. Right from the very first moment, when her face lit up, I knew my house was going to be stuffed full of random stuff, that I would always be pulled into helping her make things
Piglet however has always been paint averse. He backed away very slowly when I first got him colors, and play-doh and stuff like that were just anathema to him. He’s always been more into books, building blocks, and animals. Until this summer that is.
The teacher in Piglet’s summer camp has been super-awesome, helping him and guiding him and now suddenly he’s discovered the fun of making things. Now every day when I come home from work, Piglet proudly presents me with his latest work of art

And because Snubnose is sitting right next to me jealously waiting to see if her art-work will feature in this post, here are some of the things she has done lately.
I love this photo-frame that she created out of shells and cardboard
Snubnose created this photo-frame from a craft set that she received from a friend for her birthday. The kit was from ToyKraft and it was a really good set with enough material for two large photo frames.

Snubnose cracked this open during a play-date, and she and her buddy had tons of fun sticking on the shells to the cardboard to make these frames. Additionally, this craft set was pretty easy, and both the kids were able to get good results without any intervention or help from my side.
Definitely need to pick up more of these.
Currently, Snubnose is hard at work on a Gond art piece that’s been ongoing for the past couple of months. One characteristic of this style is its intricate detailing, which is pretty time-consuming to do. Not hard, but very time-intensive, and requires a lot of patience, which Snubnose has in abundance.

Working on her art work first thing in the morning, even before breakfast!
She isn’t using her regular materials such as oil pastels or paints. She’s working on the color using CD pens, so that she can get the lines right.
There’s still a lot of work pending on this, but just looking at how she’s going, I am sure we”ll have another masterpiece on our hands soon
So now with two kids churning out stuff faster than I can find place to store them, you can imagine the state of my house and my mind. My lovely walls are covered with colors because of course Piglet is not going to restrict himself to paper alone, and both Snubnose and Piglet get into pretty ugly fights over their color set, which they now share, and I find myself peace-making between the two all the time.
Thankfully, I can at least handle the color on the walls part by hanging up everything they do to cover all the ugly marks. The fighting? I”ll just let them figure it out themselves.
