sunshine, rendered
A remarkably dull, dreary day today compared to when I took this photo. This tree is now nearly bare, all sticks where the lovely leaves once were, scattered now where the grass was before the summer drought burned most of it off. Sad how fleeting the autumn is. It's my favorite season, and the shortest, leading into interminable winter.
All our trees are preparing for their long winter sleep save one lone maple in front, which is always slow to turn. Depending on the weather it will be another week or two before that one is also stripped bare.
And then my world will be reduced to shades of brown.
