Next year, for the first time since 1979, Penn State will play Army.
Penn State on Wednesday announced an Oct. 3, 2015, nonconference meeting set for Beaver Stadium. It completes the Nittany Lions' schedule for next season, the final one in which Big Ten teams will play eight conference games.
PSU's other nonconference games next season are at Temple and at home against Buffalo and San Diego State. A preexisting September game against Rutgers became a conference matchup when the Scarlet Knights joined the Big Ten, opening another nonconference schedule slot for the Lions.
Penn State is 13-10-2 against Army in a series that spans 1899-1979.
Penn State's 2015-17 schedules are complete. The Lions begin a four-season series against Pitt in 2016.
