Best affordable gel-based sunscreen for oily skin?

I have been talking about the importance of Sunscreen ever since I started blogging in 2016. But it seems like the sunscreen trend has started now and I can see every other post on Instagram about why you should be using sunscreen, why it is very important and all of that.

If you stay indoors and if you can feel sun rays hitting you then you need to use sunscreen even while staying indoors. Also, if you’re in the kitchen and cooking flames then it is crucial for you to use sunscreen.

Today I am going to review a newly launched peau care L’eau shield oil-free sunscreen gel.

Sulisobenzone – 4%,
Triethanolamine – 3.5%,
Ultrez 10 – 1.5%,
Phenylbenzimidazole Sulphonic Acid -1 %,
Aloe vera – 1%,

How are the color and consistency Peau care sunscreen?

The color is light yellow to off-white and as mentioned in the name this L’eau shield sunscreen is a gel with medium consistency. It is neither too thick nor runny.

The smell is very mild but still I didn’t like it. It’s kind of weird fragrance. But after application the smell/fragrance vanishes.

How is the peau care L’eau shield sunscreen?

This has an SPF 50 and claims to protect from UVA & UVB. I have oily skin and I feel this is an excellent option for oily skin people. It blends into the skin and doesn’t feel sticky.

Initially, when I applied, I felt a bit sticky and once it settles (within 1 minute), it feels lightweight, non-sticky, and is also a bit hydrating. This is a chemical sunscreen and it didn’t leave any white cast at all. Sunscreen and white cast go hand-in-hand. If your sunscreen gives white cast then you can definitely try this.

It has sulisobenzone as the main ingredient which is the UV-filter substance and this is the ingredient that helps in protecting our skin from UVB and UVA.

How to apply it perfectly under makeup?

So when you apply it and follow it up immediately with a primer, this Peau care sunscreen balls up. But then if you allow some time like 1 minute to settle and then when you apply other makeup products this will not ball up. It has Aloe vera and I feel this is because of Aloe vera in it.

Because I have experienced a similar thing when I tried Aloe vera gel as a moisturizer back in the day when I was experimenting with all sort of gels as a moisturizer

If you have oily skin, if you’re looking for a good sunscreen that doesn’t break you out or doesn’t give a white cast or doesn’t make your face oily /greasy and at the same time protect your face from the sun then you can definitely go for this. I have found a new favorite sunscreen for sure
