Patanjali Haldi Chandan Kanti Soap

By Natasha Bhatt
Hi everyone,
This is my first ever review on a soap, Yes first!!! Everyone love soaps don't they and especially if they smell good. I recently got into buying this soap from Patanjali - the ohh so famous line of products promoted by Baba Ramdev. I love sandalwood in any form be it sandalwood oil, soaps and talcum powder. Unfortunately out of my experience I find most of them no good as they are scented with artificial scents. The soap I shall review today is called Patanjali Haldi Chandan Kanti Soap. Sounds nice let us find out what I think of it.Patanjali Haldi Chandan Kanti Soap

Ingredients and other information:

Patanjali Haldi Chandan Kanti Soap
Price: Rs.13/- for 75g (very affordable isn't it)

The soap comes in a normal paper packaging which is white and yellow. All the information, ingredients and other basic information is printed at the back of the soap. The smell of sandalwood takes me back to childhood when I would go to my aunty's place to stay. They would use sandalwood soaps then. I think it was Mysore Sandal Soap which is supposed to be the best as far as I know, i have not used it lately though. All I can say over the years I have seen many companies coming out with Sandalwood soaps and after one or two use the smell disappears which clearly is an indication that is not a genuine sandal soap.

The soap is orangey yellow in color. I looked at the ingredients on this one and does mention that they have added some coloring and smell but honestly in my opinion it seems like an almost pure sandal soap after reading the ingredients and stuff. The soap lathers well and the color is a faint yellow considering that it contains haldi and chandan. It comes of easily with water and gives you a nice squeaky clean feeling. The smell stayed on me for atleast 2 hours which is nice. Now the claims that it is useful in removing dryness and roughness of the skin is true but not 100% . After my bath I felt my skin a bit dry but as time passed I felt my skin to be soft and in fact when I used it the following day I did not feel the dryness as much as I felt on using it for the first time. Inspite of December being here it is still very hot in Mumbai. This soap is ok for this kind of weather but for winter I would not recommend it.

The Good:

Easily available.
Very inexpensive.
Decent packaging.
Ingredients list mentioned.
An almost pure sandalwood soap.
It is a body cleanser as claimed as it cleanses your body well.
Trusted brand.

The not so Good:

May dry out the skin hence would recommend using in summers.
Not sure if it removes dryness or roughness of the skin.
Rating: 4/5
For 13 bucks I love it. The smell of sandalwood is a mood enhancer also everyone is aware of it beauty benefits. You should definitely try this atleast once.I recommend this soap to all especially sandalwood lovers.
I hope my review made sense and was helpful to you. Please leave in your valuable comments and any product that I should try from this brand.

Happy Weekend girlies !!!!!

Lots of love,

Patanjali Haldi Chandan Kanti Soap
