Passion Pit has that special knack for making heads spin with pulsating electronic punches and bubbly summer reminiscing, and their new single “Lifted Up (1985)” resurfaces the exquisite electronic melodies we’ve all grown so accustomed to hearing. The track is laced with their signature hypnotic buildups and drops into the choruses — this time, a chorus bursting with playful love and dreamy reminiscing. It embodies the heat of summer nights and transports listeners back to one of those sunny romances that just won’t slip away. “Lifted Up (1985)” is lighthearted and vibrant with Michael Angelakos’ animated jabs of falsetto and radiates liveliness by continuing Passion Pit’s synthpop indietronica roots.

Quickly following the release of “Lifted Up (1985)”, the band unveiled “Where the Sky Hangs”, a slower but equally compelling track. Both of these singles serve as a great indication of what’s to come on the band’s new album KINDRED, expected out on April 21st.
