Passion Pit Debuts Mature New Single [stream]

Today brought the single “Take A Walk” from indie synth heros Passion Pit (@passionpit), a track from their forthcoming sophomore effort, Gossamer, out July 24 via Columbia. The follow-up to Manners showcases a newfound ambition towards lyrical weight, as “Take A Walk” tackles issues of financial turmoil and familial strife. Front man Michael Angelakos croons “Honey it’s this loan / I think I borrowed just too much.” With a punchy beat and saccharine chorus (the line “I take a walk” over and over), Passion Pit will certainly still please fans of past anthems “Sleepyhead” and “Cuddle Fuddle”. Growing up ain’t easy, but with “Take A Walk,” Passion Pit may have developed the perfect blend to propel them to the next level of indie super stardom. In the dim adult world of taxes, skyscrapers and paper work, sometimes all we need is a walk with Passion Pit to make everything burn a little brighter.
