The Parkjam Music Festival has taken another big step towards being a must-see event this September with the announcement of their Hip-Hop Night on Thursday, September 12 at Harris Park in London, ON.
The five artists announced (so far) include Canadian and American talent and some big-time stars and nostalgia in the headlining slots. There will be a lot of fun to be had when Hip-Hop Night takes over the park. Close your eyes, and we bet you can imagine thousands of fans getting loud with Ice Cube, Busta Rhymes and Maestro Fresh Wes, just like we can.
Just look at these careers, and the picture starts to become clear. Ice Cube is a founding member of one of the greatest musical groups of all-time in N.W.A., and he is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in recognition of his music. The man is a legend. Be ready for him. Busta Rhymes is mythical in his own rights as an 11-time Grammy winner and is recognized as one of the fastest rappers in the game. North of the border, Maestro Fresh Wes became a household name in 1990 with the success of Let Your Backbone Slide. It was the first time a Canadian rapper cracked the Top 40, and one of the accomplishments that earned him the moniker: The Godfather of Canadian Hip-Hop.
Newer on the scene, but just as deserving of the London spotlight, Snotty Nose Rez Kids will make the trip from BC to Ontario for the festival. The Polaris Music Prize and Juno-nominated First Nations duo are high on talent and potential. Another Polaris long-lister, Haviah Mighty has a lot to show Parkjam as well. The Toronto rapper has been called one of the New Faces of Canadian Hip Hop by the CBC, a Toronto rapper you should know by XXL, and her debut studio album, 13th Floor is out now and ready for you to listen.

Tickets for this 19+ event go on sale starting Thursday, July 11 HERE. Prices are set at $69.50 for General Admission Passes (with a $59.50 presale and early bird discount) and VIP Passes available at $99.50.
