Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…

Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.

Something worse than the Arum has come to town…

The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we’re linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there’s this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that’s possible. Against all common sense, I’m falling for Daemon. Hard.

But then everything changes…

I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?

No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies..”

———-

I’ve seen this book everywhere! I think it deserves to be overexposed though because so many people said it was an awesome read! But still I’m kind of iffy whether I should try this one or not because by the sound of the summary it seems like it’s one of those “oh I can’t live without him” “oh I miss him (even though they see each other everyday..)” type of book. But I also feel like there will be more to it. Let’s see what the others had to say…

PEOPLE WHO ENJOYED IT…

“This book is just so freaking ah-ma-zing! I was shocked by the revelations, amazed by the twists, touched by the characters, swooned by the moments, stunned by the discoveries, broken by the loss. Jennifer L. Armentrout, once again, I applaud you for writing a very captivating, gorgeous, and outstanding sequel that is just so freaking addictive.” – Book Over Dose

“One of the things I enjoyed most about this book was Katy. I had always liked her in Obsidian but I positively adore her now. The character development was believable and much appreciated. There were moments of frustration, sure, but the end result was perfect. She learns about herself in ways she would have never had imagined and proves she is tougher than she looks.” – Realm of Fiction

“I love Jennifer’s writing so much and for those of you who haven’t read any of her books then you should get them ASAP! She creates the hottest guys with the most entertaining of personalities. If your looking for a set of amazing books to read this summer then check out all of Jennifer’s books.” – Book Crazed Reviews

PEOPLE WHO DIDN’T LIKE IT SO MUCH…

“Be prepared for eighteen chapters of meaningless flirting, making out, thinking of making out, and more making out, starring a jealous, possessive jerk and an insecure, angsty girl, while the actual plot points can be summarized in two sentences! Of no more than six words each! Don’t believe me? Katy discovers she has powers. New kid Blake is onto her. That’s it!” – A Girl A Boy and a Blog

“Moving on to Katy. Dear God, what has happened to you girl? Kind of wanted to take the cookie from Daemon’s mouth? Trying to disregard the girl in your that screamed, HE NOTICED ME? You could so picture Daemon getting into that sort of thing in the library?

AND THE SELF-BLAMING!!!

*Sobs harder*” – Zue-Leysza

———-

My first impression of this series is exactly what A Girl A Boy & A Blog’s review excerpt was. Especially the “Katy discovers she has powers. New kid Blake is onto her. That’s it!” I thought the exact same thing. I’m pretty sure most of you have read this and the first book. What did you guys think?
