Overcoming The Sorrow Of Being Single Day 10 – Got Faith?

Faith is a critical part of the foundation of our salvation. So it should be no surprise that we need faith to continue growing in God (moving up from the foundation). Not only must we believe in order to have a relationship with God, but with faith comes all of the benefits associated with God’s children. We can knock, and the door shall be opened.

Faith is the reality of what we hope for, the proof of what we don’t see. (Hebrews 11:1 CEB)

Faith says that the thing that we hope for is real. When we can not yet see it, faith is the evidence that it does exist.

As time passes and we find ourselves still waiting, we’re tempted to let go of faith. We may decide to take charge and lean to our own understanding.  But when we take control of the wheel, it leaves little room for faith to do what it does. Faith ignites God’s favor and blessings.

We must have faith. It keeps our hearts stable, assured, and at rest. If I am trusting in the Lord, I don’t have to wait until I see the blessing with my own eyes. I can rejoice now because it is settled in my heart that “it is done.”

If we find ourselves full of negative talk, a bundle of nerves, and pacing the floor at night, it’s time to check our faith level. Resting on the promises of God balances the way we think and keeps our hearts rejoicing. We’re often quick to say that we “got faith”, but our actions tell the true story.

There will be days when you feel unsure and no matter how hard you try, you just can’t get yourself together. But don’t throw in the towel and say that this faith thing isn’t working for me. If you transition from a believer to an unbeliever, what will you gain? It’s okay to say, “Lord help my unbelief.”

By faith, God raised men from the dead and opened the eyes of the blind. If nothing is too hard for God, then why not trust Him?

Refuel your faith today.
