Our Trip To See The Cherry Blossoms In DC

By Rolala @rolalaloves

Cherry Blossoms DC, Yoshino Cherry Blossoms, Cherry Blossom, Cherry Blossoms Washington DC

We took a trip to Washington, D.C. on the last week of March to go see the cherry blossoms and considering peak bloom occurred on March 17 this year (second earliest on record), it's a good thing we didn't wait until April. We didn't account for how much it would rain in the Northeast this March which does affect how long the blossoms last so they were looking a little droopy by the time we made our way to the Tidal Basin to see them. We actually had to wait until our second to last day there to go because of the rain. They were still pretty and I managed to capture some nice images for a photo study. D.C. is known for Yoshino cherry blossoms which feature white flowers, single or in clusters of 2 to 5. These trees were gifted to the US by Japan.
