Additional reading about Whaling boats
While my oldest dissected The Epic of Gilgamesh, mapped the ancient world, stormed the castles of Geometry and Computer Science and held a really good attitude about an intensive 'Writing Intensive', my middle two meandered through our Seabird Unit Study.After additional reading on Whaling boats, my 8 and 11 year olds set to making their own rendition....well, let's just say due to technical difficulties it's a 'loose' rendition. But, they tried. The boat to my left is my son's. My daughter's is 'in the shop' for some repair work.

Paint daubers are wonderful for toddlers!
The Nip Napper was not to be left out of painting fun! Forgoing the messiness of 'free-style painting', he's using paint daubers instead.
And "my" newest find to add to the Toddler Arsenal..... a regular old plastic piggy bank and counting chips. As long as your toddler isn't putting the chips into his/her mouth, this is a fun way to work on fine motor skills ---- and keeps 'em busy too!
