Focaccia is a flat oven-baked Italian bread like pizza dough in style and texture. This type of bread can be topped with herbs or other ingredients usually with olive oil, salt, sometimes herbs, and may at times be topped with onion, cheese and some vegetables.
Ingredients
250g Strong Bread Flour
7g Yeast
4 Garlic Cloves
1 Tsp Oregano
1 Tsp Salt
1 Tbsp Olive Oil
150ml Warm Water
Add strong bread flour, yeast, crushed garlic cloves, oregano, salt and mix well.
Add oil and mix.
Pour in warm water.
Knead for 5-10 minutes until the dough springs back.
Cover and allow to prove for about 1 hour until doubles in size.
Roll out the dough and place into a greased baking tray.
Cover and allow to prove again for another 30 minutes.
Using your little finger make indents in the dough, brush on olive oil and sprinkle oregano and rock salt.
Bake in the oven at 200c for 15-18 minutes.
