Online Store Review: Is Trunc PH Legit?

By Alyssa Martinez @ItsMariaAlyssa

If you’re anything like me, online shopping has probably become a huge part of your life. I mean, what’s not to love about the convenience of shopping from the comfort of your couch, right? But, let’s be real—it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. There are a lot of scammers out there that use stolen photos from influencers and fake reviews. Lately, I started a series called Shopee Seller Review and created a master list of trusted and legit shops in the Philippines to help Filipinos shop safely online. But now, I’m going to add a new one, Online Store Review starting with answering the frequently asked question, is Trunc PH legit?

What is Trunc PH?

According to their website, Trunc.ph is a multi-brand marketplace featuring some of the SSI Group’s most sought-after brands. Trunc customers will have access to the latest trends as well as to established classics and quality fashion, home, and beauty essentials.

If you’re not yet familiar with SSI Group, it’s the Philippines’ largest specialty retailer. They are responsible for bringing luxury and high-end brands to our shores such as Cartier, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Calvin Klein, Diptyque, Loewe, Muji, Zara, and more.

Unlike the now-defunct BeautyMNL, Trunc does not get its products from vendors. Their parent company imports it to the Philippines. They do not have a physical store. At the moment, they are purely online, but you may see their brands at SSI stores around the country (Greenbelt, Rockwell, SM Aura, SM Megamall, Shangri-la, and more) for brands that are available on Trunc.

My experience shopping in Trunc PH

During the pandemic lockdown, I often buy my Muji stationary supplies from Trunc. This is also where I bought my Longchamp coin purse, Diptyque Feu de Bois candle, and some Calvin Klein underwear.

The packaging is great, they use a box with a lot of popcorn styrofoam. So I received the items in mint condition. Shipping is somewhat fast too, around 2-3 days but it still depends on your location. I live outside of Metro Manila. During the lockdown they used Entrego, but that courier company shut down already. Last time, they used Air21 which was transferred to J&T (and that was earlier this year). These days, I’m not sure if they still use Air21. I’ve been buying my Muji stuff directly from the store lately.

So to answer the question, is Trunc PH legit? Yes, they’re legit.
