One World Trade Center (WTC) is the replacement of the original six-building complex of the World Trade Center that crumbled after two successive passenger planes flew into the tower on Sept. 11, 2001. One WTC was recently named the tallest building in the United States.
The building, also called Freedom Tower, emits an eerie, high-pitched sound in wind storms, which can be heard by pedestrians on the lower side of Manhattan.
