One Wedding = A Hundred Lessons Learned

Tempted as I am to rain on her parade and tell my friend- whose wedding is coming up- that all those wedding preparations she’s been stressing over are all for naught, I won’t.  I just don’t have the guts to break her heart- I’ll leave that to her future husband.

I may come from a failed marriage, but my views on it aren’t all that jaded, thank heavens.  Somehow, I still believe in love everlasting and how two people can come together as one- and still keep their individuality intact.

Without getting my tummy in knots, I can manage to look back on my own wedding day and plaster a sincere smile on my face.   I remember how stunning I looked back then, and how generally happy I was.  I felt relaxed, unmindful of the impending root canal I was scheduled to have a few weeks from then.

I guess we all learn from our mistakes.  If there was a Betty Crocker for marriages, I’d be a good candidate for that.  You can come to me for advice, because I may have learned just enough marriage lessons to help save YOUR marriage.

So now, as I help my friend check out wedding favors to hand out to her guests on the big day, I shoot her a quick smile, and assure her that all is well… all will be well.
