Leopard isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s a bold, confident print with tremendous versatility. You can either wear it in an elegant, sophisticated manner or in a cheap, slick, tacky way. Okay, all kidding aside (nobody wants to look cheap, slick or tacky), you may be able to get more use out of the leopard you own than you think. Let’s take these leopard pants from Banana Republic, for example. You may be surprised by all the different ways you can wear them. For today’s post in this series, check out the five leopard pants outfits I put together for some advice and ways to style them.
Five Leopard Pants Outfits
Look #1
Before you assume your leopard pants to be limited to being worn with neutral colors like black and brown, you can actually treat them like a solid neutral and color block them. Instead of seeing these pants as a leopard pattern, I treated them like a solid brown pair of pants and styled them with this orange sweater from Boden and turquoise flats from Modcloth. Not only is color blocking a popular trend, but so is taking risk with color. With so many pops of color, I decided to keep the bag and jewelry understated and chose a cute tassel clutch by Flying Daisies and simple pyramid earrings from Banana Republic.
Look #2
If you prefer a little less color, a black cardigan and ivory Vince Camuto blouse is an easy companion to wear with leopard. I added this plum handbag from Nine West to show how versatile this color is as an accent. The outfit is finished with a comfortable pair of black slingbacks, also from Nine West, black enamel earrings and gold necklace from Stella & Dot.
Look #3
Leopard has a real retro feel to it. For a full retro effect, try belting a black button down and showing your waist. I love this look with a pair of burgundy flats, and this particular pair, Vince Camuto’s Ellen flat, is by far the most comfortable pair of flats I’ve ever owned. For that classic, retro look, I paired the outfit with this two handled black and white Aldo tote. The face is framed, and the outfit finished, with gold cobblestone earrings by Kanupriya.
Look #4
Before you leave the house in a white button down shirt and leopard pants, finish your outfit with touches of tan and ivory for a soft, sophisticated look. Boden’s white button down is cinched with a metallic belt from Lauren Ralph Lauren and the outfit is elegantly styled with tan shoes, a tortoise necklace and Big Buddha handbag.
Look #5
I love leopard with burgundy– so rich and autumnal. What I also like is using previously used pieces to make new outfits. Not only is it affordable but it is more realistic. With this top from Modcloth, burgundy earrings and tassel necklace, the slingbacks and handbag, used in previous outfits, creates an elegant weekend look.
