Once Upon A Time: Brunch At Amada

I found these pictures on a memory card. They are exactly two years old from my trip to Philadelphia and had not made it on the blog, yet. Looking through these pictures I felt like they were from a lifetime ago. Everything about this trip feels so long ago. Right now, in my current state of mind, I cannot even think of going to a restaurant and eating. Only take-outs for me.

Pre-COVID I was out at least for a couple of meals every week. I miss a sit-down meal, a friendly ambiance, a change of pace. But no matter how mundane and boring I find this current pace of life, I am not ready to have a sit-down meal at a restaurant. Not even with social distancing. Not for a while at least. Until then, I will live vicariously through my own archives of pictures

I had made a reservation at Amada for brunch. This was back when I was crazy about French Toasts and no matter which city I visited, I made sure I went and had the most creative French Toast they had to offer. And Amada did not disappoint. It was a charming Spanish restaurant with great decor and service. It was small so I am glad I had a reservation. The food is tapas style so you need to order a few dishes to make sure you have enough to go around (even between two people). We had ordered Patatas Bravas, Ensalada Verde, Shakshuka & Spanish Toast.I'd say it is a great place for date night, or special occasion but not particularly when you are starving and want to eat a decent meal. Overall a good experience.
