If current events are any indication, principles matter now more than ever. If you live by a certain set of principles, they shouldn’t change just because they're too hard to follow and if that's why you abandon them, you probably didn’t truly have those principles to begin with. The point is that if you really believe in your principles, you would find a way to practice them even if it's not the easy road to take. Anyone has the right to do whatever they want but at least have the courage not be be fake about being righteous and be prepared to live with the consequences of your actions. Your actions should match your words.
