A bizarre Game 3, to say the least.
Clay Buchholz struggled, barely got through 6 innings, and gave up a three-run shot to Evan Longoria.
The Red Sox defense had a rare bad inning in the 8th, when Tampa Bay got the lead run.
But then in comes Fernando Rodney, who has been simply awful against the Red Sox this season. He walked Will Middlebrooks to open the inning, and you could see this game at least being tied. And it was, after Dustin Pedroia grounded out with runners on 2nd and 3rd, making it 4-4.
Koji Uehara made short work of the first two hitters, and I started thinking to myself, "Mike Napoli leads off the 10th...", when Jose Lobaton hit a shot over the wall in right center to give Tampa Bay the win, 5-4.
I just stared at the screen in amazement.
