Brett and I recently signed up for a CSA box, and while I love getting fresh vegetables and fruit delivered to our doorstep, it’s sometimes challenging to eat everything before the next box arrives. Citrus is in season and every other week we’ve received TONS of oranges. I was getting a little sick of eating them plain so last week I picked up a cheap juicer from Target. I wanted a fancy one with all the bells and whistles, but unfortunately there was no cash envelope for such an extravagant purchase this month. All that being said, the cheap juicer worked great and my biceps enjoyed the mini workout. The best fresh squeezed orange juice I ever tasted was at Norma’s in New York City. I remember my eyes nearly popped out of my head when I saw the $9 price tag, until I realized it was a) fresh squeezed, and b) bottomless. You better believe I had three huge glasses (and spent the following hour peeing every 12 minutes). Totally worth it.
Do you own a juicer? Any tips for a juicing newb?
