Ever since I cut my hair short, I promised myself that I will now seriously take care of my hair. Not that I didn’t before but, I wasn’t just really paying that much attention to my hair back then. I started using one brand for hair products I use in the shower. I just finished my Vidal Sassoon Shampoo, Conditioner, and Treatment last week and I’m already transitioning to another brand so before I jump in to that, I’ll share my experience with these products.
My Vidal Sassoon Hair Care products
I was so lucky to get all of these for free! Three of those (shampoo, conditioner, treatment) I got from Sample Room and the other two (styler and intensive hair mask) from BDJ Box. I have tried the Premium Base Care series (shampoo & conditioner), but I didn’t like the effect on my hair. Not sure if it was just me but, I can’t find any spectacular change in my hair so I thought, maybe if I will use the whole line, it will make a difference.
Vidal Sasso0n Premium Color Care Shampoo and Conditioner
These two are better than the base care line, as for my experience. Maybe because I have colored hair? Yeah, I think.
Scent
I love fragrant products most especially with hair care products. I like it when my hair smells so good! Who doesn’t anyway? The scent of VS products are not that attractive for me. It fades after an hour or less on my hair. It’s not as fragrant as I want it to be to be so I guess that’s the answer.
Formula/Consistency
Both shampoo and conditioner have thick consistency, only that the conditioner is thicker. The shampoo is not foamy so I guess it has less sulfates, which I prefer.
Packaging
The packaging is unique for me and I’m having a 50 50 love affair with it. I like it that it’s different compared to the other packaging of the products I’ve tried, but due to its thick formula, I’m having quite a hard time to get the product so I put them both in upside down position.
As usual, conditioner contains a little bit more compared to the shampoo.
Vidal Sassoon Premium Color Care Treatment
After shampoo & conditioner, I use this treatment everyday. It’s like the last step for my hair when I shower. It makes my hair softer and smoother compared to if I just used the conditioner after shampooing my hair. It smells good too! A bit better than the former.
Vidal Sassoon Intensive Hair Mask
Once to twice a week, I replace the VS Treatment with this intensive mask. I apply this after shampoo & conditioner, put my shower cap, and wait for around 10 – 20 minutes before rinsing it off. Aside from making my hair softer and smoother, my hair also becomes straighter as I notice. No issues except from, it’s a bit hard to rinse.
I love the packaging. I thought I was fooled with that thick cover but no I am not! It’s FULL!
Magic Style Activator (Curl)
I tried curling my hair and I use this before I curl it with a curling iron. It makes curling easier, especially for me who has a short hairstyle. However, if you want your curls to last longer, you still need to use your favorite hairspray to hold the curls.
Three (3) pumps is recommended for semi-long hair but I use around 4 – 6 pumps because I have thick hair.
Using all of these Vidal Sassoon products makes my colored hair look more vibrant, softer, and smoother. It also adds shine to my hair. Before, I don’t appreciate my hair color anymore but when I started using these, they bring back life to my colored hair.
OVERALL
I love all the effects these products give to my hair but I was expecting more. The brand has been raved or talked about so maybe I have set my standards already and they weren’t met.
