It's a well known fact that I'm in love with technology. But I could never justify getting an iPad when I already had a MacBook and an iPhone - never that is till last weekend when I found some PayPal funds I'd overlooked and saw some good prices online. I was in London with my daughter who wanted to go to Peter Jones where they give two year guarantees... So here I am, still in bed, having been reading the Guardian on the thing for nearly two hours. Is this going to be the story of the rest of my life? The worst of it is that I've stubbornly refused to get a Kindle because I love real physical books and I'm very much afraid that the lure of ebooks is going to be too great now, especially as here in France I can't just run down to the library or trawl the charity shops. Oh well -there could be worse things I suppose - I've got a cup of tea and some very affectionate kittens, it's cold outside, and I'm writing this on my shiny new toy. But will I ever get up again?
