Ode To The Legendary Filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh

To commemorate the 6th Death Anniversary of legendary director Rituparno Ghosh, for the first time, SVF(the producer) released the Official Music Album (all HD videos) of the National Award-Winning Film Raincoat.

The full video songs starring noted Bollywood actors Aishwarya Rai Bachchan & Ajay Devgn and directed by the legend himself, have been released on SVF's official YouTube channel.

The songs of the film have been released everyday starting from 25th May until 30th May, paying homage to the iconic director and his creations. Lending voice to some of the songs is acclaimed singer Shubha Mudgal whose 'Piya Tora Kaise Abhimaan' along with the lyrics from famed poet Gulzar, will touch the heart of every lovelorn soul. The rest of the songs have been penned by Rituparno Ghosh himself. Other singers who have been part of the musical journey of the film were Hariharan & Meena Mishra.

The following selected songs out of 8 have been released the entire week with a complete jukebox releasing on the day marking the death anniversary:

Remembering the veteran filmmaker, Director & Co-founder SVF, Mahendra Soni said: "Ritu Da holds an extremely special place for us and his absence will always be felt in our lives. Raincoat is one of the many gifts he gave the Bengali audience. This is our endeavour to pay homage to the maestro."

Directed by Rituparno Ghosh, the film revolves around the story of two lovers Mannu (Ajay Devgn) & Neeru (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) who are separated by destiny, meet again one day and the encounter tells them the truth about each other's life. It is an adaptation of the short story- The Gift of Magi (1906) by O. Henry and is the inspiration of Mithaq Kazimi's English adaptation of this film.

The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi and the Crystal Globe for Best Feature Film at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
