Hi everyone,

It’s been a while since I last did a favourites post so today I thought I’d share my must have products for the month of October!

Eye of Horus Scarab Sapphire Goddess Pencil* – $30.00 from Eye of Horus

eye of horus scarab sapphire goddess pencil
Recently Eye of Horus released the latest shade of their Goddess Pencils, Scarab Sapphire which is a gorgeous deep blue shade. I  own other shades from the Goddess Pencil range but I have to say that this beautiful shade is fast becoming my favorite from the line, even beating the classic black Smokey Eye Goddess Pencil which has been such a staple of mine. The formula is impeccable as usual as the kohl formula glides easily onto the eye with no need for excessive force. As usual, the pigmentation is amazing and opaque which makes application so easy and allows you to create so many different eyeliner looks because of the control you have.

The pencil can be blended to be used as an eyeshadow or once set, it becomes such a long lasting eyeliner that really doesn’t budge at all until you remove it at the end of the day. Described as a dark blue, the Scarab Sapphire Goddess Pencil has a satin-y, almost metallic finish in some lights that causes the blue to vary its shade. I’ll be using this product in a tutorial on the blog soon so keep an eye out for that! For past reviews of Eye of Horus products, click here, here and here.

Kosmea Australia Facial Cleansing Wipes* – $9.95 for a pack of 30

kosmea facial cleansing wipes

I’ve really only ever stuck to one brand of facial wipes consistently so I was excited to try these Kosmea wipes as I’ve heard only great things about this product! First off, I think having the packet closure being an actual plastic lid is so wonderful because it really works to keep the wipes much more moist than the usual sticky tab closures. The wipes themselves are infused with ingredients such as Rose Hip Oil, Olive Oil and Aloe Vera which make the wipes not only more effective to remove makeup and dirt from the face but it also allows the skin to be nourished and refreshed.

Being quite moist, the lightly scented wipes are really nice and soft but still sturdy at the same time and I found that just using one wipe did an amazing job at removing a whole face of makeup from foundation to eye makeup. Whilst it did remove the majority of my mascara, I found that there was still a bit left behind so I then used an eye makeup remover to cleanse, however, I do usually reserve facial wipes for the face only to reduce the risk of any eye irritation. The wipes were gentle on the skin and didn’t cause any irritation, dryness or tightness of the face and instead left the skin feeling soft and fresh.

Luk Beautifood Lip Nourish in Orange & Juniper* – $24.95 from Luk Beautifood

I spotted these Luk Beautifood Lip Nourishes popping up on social media quite a lot and people were absolutely raving about them so when I had the opportunity to trial one for myself, I jumped at the chance! There are 7 flavours and shade variations of the Lip Nourish and I chose Orange and Juniper which is a gorgeous natural dusky pink shade for everyday wear. All the shades are sheer and are 100% natural, made from ingredients such as avocado oil, cocoa butter and omega 3+6 essential fatty acids that hydrate and protect the lips effectively.

Once the first swipe is on the lips, the Lip Nourish just glides on and it really does nourish the lips, just as the name suggests! My lips were left soft, supple and plump with a slight shine to them. The consistency is more towards the lip balm side than a lipstick which I love because it is so comfortable to wear on the lips and I think this product would work well being worn alone as well as a base under a lip gloss or lipstick to provide moisture and a perfect base. As they are formulated for a sheer finish, I found that there was no pressure of having to check if it needed reapplying so I was able to go a full day with only reapplying once or twice.

Pretty Honest by Sali Hughes – $30.30 (currently save 24%) from Book Depository

When I came across Caroline Hiron’s blog post that began with ”If you are female and have skin you need this book”, I knew I had to have it and slowly I saw so many beauty bloggers rave about the book and rightly so because it is an amazing read! It has every piece of beauty related material you’ll ever need delivered in a fun and easy to read way and whether you’re new to beauty products or a complete expert, you will learn so much from this book. From treating skin conditions to how to choose the right type of foundation and applying makeup on the bus, this is a must read and I highly recommend it. It would also be an AMAZING Christmas present!
