Posted on the 02 October 2013 by Jim Winburn @civicbeebuzz

On October 17, 2013 the High Desert Opportunity Conference will continue their over 30-year tradition drawing business and government leaders from all over the High Desert and Southern California for this one day event. This year, the conference committee has significantly boosted the “HD Theater” panels by involving industry groups and individual industry leaders like Randall Lewis of the Lewis Retail Group and Economist Dr. John Husing.

This year’s conference will also be the first time that included in the admission is the opportunity for people to set up meetings with any representatives of the five High Desert cities and the County; but the conference offers more than simple meet and greet opportunities.

“The High Desert Opportunity Conference has developed into a necessity for anyone looking to grow their business in the region. With NAIOP (a commercial real estate development association) involved along with so many others, the wealth of information and tools available to those who attend is simply invaluable”, said Chris Lamoreaux, 2013 High Desert Opportunity Chairperson.

The HD Theater gives attendees access to a panel of specialists that will give real time updates on logistical improvements, planned expansions, workforce education, as well as industry updates on Manufacturing, Retail and Industrial market segments.

The event will be capped by the keynote speaker Todd Buchholz, a former White House economic advisor, top Wall Street hedge fund manager and bestselling author of books like New Ideas from Dead Economists.

The High Desert region boasts a population of over 440,000 people and it includes the cities of Adelanto, Barstow, Hesperia, Victorville and the Town of Apple Valley.

“The High Desert is a region that is full of potential in the form of major travel hubs, business friendly policies and prime retail space” states Chris Lamoreaux, “The region has a potential retail purchasing power of over 5.3 billion dollars, so it’s no surprise that this conference draws significant interest from those who are looking for new markets.”

The High Desert Opportunity Conference will take place all day on October 17th, 2013 at the High Desert Events Center in Victorville, CA. General Admission tickets, and booth space are currently on sale at http://www.highdesertopportunity.com.
