A few days ago, the Reactionary Republicans needed to be chided. It was time for them to stop trying to do the impossible; repealing Obamacare. It was time for compromise, which is the way our government works. So they actually came back with a proposal in the House, forgetting the defunding, and offering to suspend implementation for one year, something that the President has already done with some of the provisions pertaining to business that need improvement before implementation. In addition, they have proposed removing the tax on medical devices contained within the act. Having worked for a few medical device companies attempting to bring new devices top market, I am aware of the difficulty involved, and the financial costs of this venture, and think it might be a good idea NOT to implement this device tax, as it might be the straw that stops development of such new products.
In days gone by, the Senate and the House would appoint a joint conference committee to take the two bills passed by the House and Senate which agree to fund the workings of government avoiding a shutdown, and this committee would work out a compromise on the Obamacare changes that would be accepted by both Houses of Congress.
If they can do this, then Government will begin to earn respect. IF they do not do this, the blame will lie solely on the heads of Senate Democrats, specifically Harry Reid and
