Yesterday, June 9, 2014, Congress held a behind-closed-doors hearing on Obama’s May 31 prisoner swap, releasing 5 dangerous Taliban terrorists from Gitmo in exchange for U.S. Army deserter Bowe Bergdahl.Congress learnt that as many as 80 to 90 Obama administration officials were aware of the planned swamp, and yet not a single member of Congress was informed, in direct violation of Section 1035 of the 2014 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) or H.R. 3304 (read it in PDF here), which was signed into law by Obama on Dec. 26, 2013.
Section 1035′s subsection (d) states:
“The Secretary of Defense shall notify the appropriate committees of Congress of a determination of the Secretary under subsection (a) or (b) not later than 30 days before the transfer or release of the individual under such subsection.”
Obama’s prisoner swap is also in violation of Section 1035(a)(1), (b)(1), and (c)(2) of the 2014 NDAA. (Read about it here.)
The POS must be feeling the heat because something else happened at yesterday’s closed-door Congressional hearing:Obama threw Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel under the bus, blaming him for the prisoner swap by saying it was Hagel who made the final call on the swap.
Here’s a tweet from CNN’s Erin Burnett:
The last time I looked, Barack Hussein Obama is still the President and Commander In Chief of the United States — and Hagel’s boss.
Hagel didn’t make the final call; Obama the POS did.
