O Estado De S Paulo: the Bilingual Front Page Idea

TAKEAWAY: Printed newspapers still have the power to surprise, to entertain and to make us stop and take a look, as did Brazil’s O Estado de S. Paulo Monday.

Side by side: one front page, same content, two languages

Here is an idea we like.

Monday’s edition of the Brazilian daily, O Estado de S. Paulo, had a rather unusual and creative use of a wrap around front page.

To the readers’ surprise, the front page is in English, with a message that reads:

This is how your kids will understand the world: In English.“

The articles are the same ones published in Portuguese in the edition’s real front page.

We thank our blog reader, Alexandre Giesbrecht, for sharing it with us.
