NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet Offers Console Quality Gaming for Just $299

Packed with 2.2 GHz NVIDIA Tegra K1 mobile processor, which the company touts to be “the world’s fastest mobile processor”, NVIDIA Kepler GPU with support for Full HD 1080p, 2 GB of RAM, an 8-inch 1920×1200 display, and Android 4.4.3, the SHIELD gaming tablet will hit the shelves with an affordable price tag at just $299 (16GB Wi-Fi) and $399 (32GB Wi-Fi, LTE).

The SHIELD gaming tablet also features booming front facing stereo speakers, 5-MP cameras, and comes with a wireless controller and a stylus. You can even plug the SHIELD tablet into your TV and switch to console mode or even stream your gaming with Twitch.

The main concept behind the SHIELD tablet is pure entertainment. Tegra-K1 optimized games such as The Talos Principle, Half Life 2, War Thunder, and many more will be available at launch of SHIELD tablet, along with support for media streaming apps including Netflix, and Hulu Plus.
