Nude.

Nude.Nude.
Whilst I love a bright lip, on an everyday basis, it's pretty hard to pull off so I tend to stick more with the nudes and neutrals. A subtle 'my lips but better' shade can go a long way in improving a look, and is so versatile it will work with anything from heavy, smokey eyes, to a single brush of mascara. Saying that, a good nude can be pretty difficult to find; I tend to like to stay away from anything shimmery, too pale, or funky smelling on my lips, so finding an affordable alternative to nude lips can be pretty difficult. You could say I'm a bit of a picky customer (I prefer the term high standards), but here's what made the cut.
Revlon Colour Burst Matte Balm in Complex - Hailed as a dupe for MAC's Shy Girl, this balm is a very popular one in the 'beauty community' right now, and at a fraction of the price, it is well worth trying out. A peachy-beige nude, this one is great for anyone who loves a matte lip. It works perfectly worn on its own or layered with a little lip gloss on top to give it a nice shine and the minty smell makes it lovely and refreshing to apply.
17 Mirrorshine Lipstick in Beehive - A sheer, buildable formula that gives a lovely, smooth look on the lips this lipstick is perfect for beginners with lipstick. The nudey-peachy-browny-pink perfects your pout with a glossy but totally non-sticky shine. It's not a color that will stand out, but that's sort of what I love about it. No makeup-makeup at it's best. L'Oreal Rouge Caresse in Fashionista Pink - Another gloss-lipstick hybrid, but the color of this one is slightly more 'daring' (for a nude). A barbie-like pink in the bullet, on the lips this sheers out to give a really nice sheer wash of colour, and the blue undertones go a long way in helping to whiten teeth. This is one of my favourites for pairing with a darker eye makeup look.
Revlon SuperLustrous in Pink Cognito - A fuller coverage than the three before, this lipstick is perfect for when I want a polished look that doesn't skimp on the moisture. With a balm like formula, these lipsticks are incredibly hydrating, and the color (an almost identical shade to my natural lip colour) just helps to finish off the look.
What are your favorite nudes, any that you think I should try out?
