While the loveliness of your eye or nose or hair will be the same all through the year, the beauty of your skin may see many ups and downs as seasons change. Winter is especially hard on people’s skin, more so on the skin that is naturally dry. The cold air of winter is less humid than summer air, and it causes the skin to lose all its natural moisture. The skin will be rough most of the time, and will become itchy or peel or crack if the winter is severe. Indoor heating, that is mandatory during winter, will further damage your skin by removing moisture even from indoor areas.

Continuous moisturizing is a mandatory treatment for the rough winter skin. You can use either moisturizing creams or lotions. Lotions contain less moisture than creams but they absorb fast and do not make you feel sticky. But if the skin is too dry, you might have to use creams and bear their greasiness to keep the skin nourished. Creams containing Manuka honey is recommended for use in winter. Using a humidifier inside the home will have a positive effect on your skin since it will replace the moisture lost by heating.

When winter turns into spring, like everything else around it, your skin will also become a little refreshed. But skin texture will not change instantly as the days become longer, and you will have to continue using moisturizers on your skin through much of the spring also. Spring is also a season when allergies like pollen allergy start raising their head. So, those prone to allergies should remember to keep off allergenic foods and whatever else that are likely to trigger off an allergic attack. Using a cleanser once in a while is also good for the skin during spring.

Your skin will have comparatively less problems in summer, so far as you remain inside without venturing out. But summer is also the time for entertaining oneself, and so people do tend to go out a lot. The summer sun is harsher on the skin than the winter sun, and you should use sunscreen when exposing yourself to the full blast of the outside heat. While buying sunscreen, select one that provides broad spectrum protection, which means that they would be effective in blocking both ultraviolet-A and ultraviolet-B light. It is also important to check the SPF or sun protection factor of the sunscreen you are buying. For use during outdoor activity that could last four hours or more, it is best to go in for a sunscreen of at least 30 SPF.

When autumn makes its entry, you should once again prepare the skin for the onslaught of winter. If you have an oily skin, your skin is likely to look good in autumn as the atmosphere turns cold. Fall is a good time for exfoliating the skin using some oily scrubs. Exfoliation will clean the skin as well as hydrate it.

Some of the anti-aging creams in the market have been found to be very effective for the skin throughout all seasons. The skincare formula containing Cynergy TK, which is a product obtained from sheep’s wool, is rich in keratin, which is a protein essential for skin health. So is Phytessence Wakame, a skin care ingredient that is obtained from kelp. You can keep these names in mind while looking for skin protecting creams on supermarket shelves.
